Nunley, to eight years and six months in prison for defrauding the United Auburn Indian Community, conspiring to launder monetary instruments, and filing a false tax return, Acting United States Attorney Phillip A. Talbert announced. At sentencing, Judge Nunley noted that Volen had stolen from people who had become “like family members” to him.
